Product Benefits

A tall client runs out of track before they run out of movement. Footwork finishes early, long spine gets clipped, and the instructor quietly shortens the exercise to fit the machine rather than the person. The Align Pilates A8-Pro Pilates Reformer removes that compromise, which means the exercise finishes where the body finishes, not where the rail does. At 113cm, its carriage travel is the longest in the Align range, on the widest carriage Align builds at 67cm. If you have been asking which Pilates reformer suits tall clients, travel is the number that answers it, and this is where Align's range tops out.

Most studio reformers are sized for the average client, and that is usually fine. The trouble starts at the ends of the range. A 190cm athlete pushing into full extension hits the carriage stop before the leg is straight. A rehab client who needs the bed at hip height finds a machine with one fixed height and gives up. Neither is solved by cueing. Both are solved by a longer track and a deck height you choose at purchase.

113cm of carriage travel is the headline, and it is a real difference rather than a rounding one: the A8-Pro gives 6.5cm more track than the C8-Pro, which is the difference between a tall client finishing footwork and running out of rail. The carriage itself is 91cm by 67cm, wider than the C-Series bed, so side lying and kneeling work stays stable on broader frames. Underneath, 8 polyurethane wheels run on precision aluminium runners, which spreads load and keeps the ride quiet as the machine ages.

Two details do more daily work than the headline figure. The patent-pending Rapid Change spring bar moves through 4 positions across a 20cm range with one hand, so changing load mid-class costs seconds instead of a reset. And the Silent system, meaning metal-free double loop handles, silent ropes and patented silent pulleys, keeps a room of machines quiet enough to teach over. Align has the A8-Pro independently tested to EN ISO 20957-1:2013 and rates it to a 150kg user.

The frame is 264cm long and 75cm wide, at 42cm on standard legs. It does not fold or stand on end, so it needs a permanent home with walking space at the foot end and one long side. It ships freight on a pallet, part assembled, and at 264cm it will not pass through a doorway once built, so it goes together in its final room. Two people. The rope risers fold down, which is what lets a Half Cadillac frame be added later on the A-Series bracket set, at 199cm, 213cm or 235cm assembled depending on your legs.

  • Best for, and not ideal for

Ideal For

Studios teaching tall clients who run out of track on a shorter machine

Rehab and physio rooms needing a high deck for transfers and standing work

Instructors who want deck height matched to the clients they actually see

Owners planning to add a Half Cadillac frame to the same machine later

Not ideal for

Anyone who needs to clear the floor between sessions. The A8-Pro does not fold and does not stand upright

Tight rooms. The frame is 264cm long before you add walk-around space

Studios that want to change deck height often. Swapping leg sets is a workshop job, not a class-time adjustment

Buyers who move machines daily. It stacks, but that is a two-person lift on a 75kg frame

Which leg height to choose

This is the only decision on the A8-Pro you cannot easily undo, so it is worth two minutes. Leg height changes how far the deck sits above the floor. What that changes in practice is how clients get on and off, where you stand to cue, and what standing work is sensible.

Shipping & Delivery

The A8-Pro ships with one of three interchangeable leg sets: low 28cm, standard 42cm, or rehab 64cm. Legs set deck height and nothing else. Travel, spring load, footbar range and exercise repertoire are identical across all three. A second set fits later, but it is a separate part and a bolt-off, bolt-on job with a 75kg frame on its side. If you are unsure, take the standard 42cm: the height clients have met elsewhere, the height the Half Cadillac bundle ships at, and the easiest to resell.

We check leg height against the clients you actually teach, and confirm bracket and accessory compatibility against the machine you own, before the order goes in. On a built-to-order freight item, that conversation is worth more than anything else on this page.
