Product Benefits
The Align Pilates C8-Pro Pilates Reformer is the machine most studios buy when the room is a normal room. It is 244cm long and 66cm wide, with 106.5cm of carriage travel on a 92cm by 58cm bed, built on an oversize aluminium profile frame with a wood look finish. Studio duty, independently tested to EN ISO 20957-1:2013, rated to 150kg.
The compact studio reformer, and the leg height decision that comes with it
Decide the leg height before you order, not after
Best for, and not ideal for
Ideal For
Studios fitting several reformers into a normal room, where 244cm keeps the layout workable
Owners who want a wood look machine in a client facing space on a metal frame underneath
Home buyers who want studio duty build without studio floor space
Rooms where the machine has to move or stack between uses
Not ideal for
Instructors who need 42cm working height but order the standard build to save on the extensions
Very tall clients who want the longest possible carriage travel, that is the A8-Pro
Anyone who needs a machine that folds, the C8-Pro does not fold
Studios planning a full Cadillac frame around the reformer later, check the fitting first
Why we carry this one
The comparison worth making is the C8-Pro against the C8-S Pro. Both are studio duty, both are rated to 150kg, both use the same Rapid Change spring bar and the same 8 PU wheel carriage. Moving to the C8-S is a change of layout and finish, and not a step up in duty class. The C8-S pulls the standing platform and the rope risers inside the frame, which keeps the outline tighter and gives you nothing hanging off the sides in a crowded room. Its risers are stainless where the C8-Pro's are painted, and Align's comparison sheet lists nine riser heights on the C8-S against seven here. Carriage travel goes the other way, 106.5cm on the C8-Pro and 105cm on the C8-S. The C8-S is finished in white. Choose on the room and the look you want in front of clients, and do not expect the white machine to last longer.
If the wood look is what you are after but the room is dark or the branding is not, the C8-Pro Noir is the same machine in a black finish. Every mechanical line on the spec sheet is identical, so it is a colour decision only.
C8-Pro, C8-S Pro or A8-Pro
Three C and A series machines share the Rapid Change spring bar and the 8 wheel carriage. What separates them is carriage travel, footbar range and how the machine looks in a client facing room.
The C8-Pro is the middle of the range and the one most studios buy. The C8-S Pro is the same working machine in white, with the rope risers moved inside the frame so they clear the walkway where an instructor stands. It gives up 1.5cm of travel and takes a Half Cadillac only, never a Full Cadillac. The A8-Pro is the flagship: 113cm of travel, a wider carriage, 6 footbar positions and three interchangeable leg heights. Take the A8-Pro if you teach tall clients or want leg height flexibility, and the C8-Pro if you want the same spring bar and wheel system on a smaller footprint.

What the specs mean for you
Specification
What it means in practice
244cm x 66cm footprint
Fits a normal room and lets you run two or three machines across a floor that would only take two of the longer reformers
106.5cm carriage travel
Enough range for most adult clients in footwork and long stretch. Clients over six foot two will feel the end of the track sooner than on the A8-Pro
26cm standard bed height
Low. Easy for a steady client to sit onto, harder on the instructor's back across a full teaching day, which is what the extension legs solve
42cm with the leg extensions
Normal studio working height, and it is what the rope risers need to reach their full 7 position range
Rapid Change spring bar
Spring load changes with one hand and the springs stay attached, so transitions in a class do not stall on hardware
8 PU wheels on anodised aluminium runners
Quiet under load and less wheel servicing than a four wheel carriage across a commercial duty cycle
Free stands and wheels for storage
With either the freestanding legs or the leg extensions fitted, the machine stands and moves on its own rather than needing to be lifted
What ships with it
C8-Pro reformer on an oversize aluminium profile frame, in the build you select
5 nickel plated music wire springs, two light, two medium, one strong
Oversize aluminium footbar, 4 lockable positions including flat, and a 3 position head rest
Removable, lockable shoulder rests with off centred pads for a choice of two widths
Pro Rope Adjusters at the head rest, both ropes adjust together
Removable painted rope risers outside the frame, 7 heights with the extension legs fitted
Height adjustable feet so the carriage runs level on an uneven floor
The three builds on this page
Normal. The reformer at its standard 26cm bed height. The lowest, lightest and least expensive way into the machine, and the right pick for a home room.
With Leg Extensions. Raises the bed to 42cm studio working height and gives the rope risers their full range. This is the studio build, and the one most teaching floors should order.
With Freestanding Leg
Shipping & Delivery
What catches buyers out is height, not length. Every Pilates reformer in the C-Series ships at a 26cm bed height as standard, which is low. That suits a home room and low ceilings, and it is well under the working height an instructor expects on a studio floor. The 42cm studio height comes from the leg extensions, which are a variant on this page rather than an afterthought.
The standard C8-Pro sits at 26cm. That is fine on a home floor and low for teaching a full day, and the rope risers only reach their full 7 position range once the extension legs are fitted. If you want studio working height, order the With Leg Extensions variant with the machine rather than trying to add height later. Retro fitting means a second shipment and a strip down of the frame ends, and the risers and legs need to match. Call us if you are unsure which build the room needs.
