One limit belongs at the top rather than buried in a spec sheet. The C8-S Pro takes the Half Cadillac only. Align-Pilates states on the manufacturer page that the Full Cadillac cannot be attached to this frame, and no bracket changes that. If your repertoire needs the trapeze, buy the C8-Pro with Full Cadillac instead. If push through bar, pull down bar and spring work covers what you teach, the Half Cadillac does all of it, lower and without needing a wall.

In use it is two machines in one place. Teach a reformer session on the 92cm by 58cm carriage, then fit the mattress converter and platform extender and it becomes a flat bed for supine work. The 8 springs come in two lengths, 47cm for the reformer and 64cm for the tower, so switching modes is not a re-rig.

The C8-S Pro cannot take a Full Cadillac. Align-Pilates confirms it, and it is not something you can add later. Second, the C8-S mounts its Half Cadillac on its own bracket, PAP-C8SHCADBKT, a different part from the one used on the C8 and C2 Pro. The two do not interchange, so anyone retrofitting a tower to a C8-S they own must order the C8-S bracket. Third, assembled height is 205cm, so measure to the lowest obstruction and leave clearance for the pull down bar arc.

Why we carry this one

The Half Cadillac stands on the reformer rather than against a wall, so it can sit in the middle of a room and be worked from both sides. The upper frame is stainless steel, which matters in a humid studio where chromed steel eventually pits. Underneath it is the same C8-S we sell on its own: a Rapid Change spring bar that adjusts with one hand with the springs attached, Pro Rope Adjusters that move both ropes together, an 8 wheel carriage on aluminium runners, and concealed feet for levelling. Align-Pilates has it independently tested to ISO 20957-1 Class S.

Buying it as a bundle also removes the part number problem. Bracket, leg extensions, converter and extender all have to match the model, and the C8-S parts are specific to it. Piecemeal ordering is where retrofits go wrong.

The Half Cadillac gives you the push through bar, the maple pull down bar, arm and leg springs, foot straps and hand handles on one pair of uprights at 205cm. The Full Cadillac adds a second pair of uprights, the trapeze with its foot support, fuzzy handles, and 12 springs rather than 8. It needs more room and more height, and it cannot be fitted to a C8-S at all.

If you want the white finish and a tower, this bundle is the only way to have both. If you want the option of a full frame later, start with the C8-Pro with Half Cadillac, which takes either frame and ships with a sitting box and gondola pole.
