The Cozy Heat O is a wood burning sauna stove with a cylindrical stone cage instead of an angular one. The round shape reads softer in a small room, and it puts stone at an even distance from the fire on every side, so the heat comes off the rock evenly rather than hardest at the corners. The COZYO12 heats a home sauna room of 210 to 423 cu ft and the COZYO18 covers 317 to 635 cu ft. Both are wood burning sauna heaters that install on the floor with no power and no wiring, and the only routine jobs are emptying the ash box and restacking the stones once per year. Stones and chimney are used with the stove and both are sold separately.

A stone cage only works if the stone is close to the fire. On an angular cage the rock in the corners sits further out than the rock on the flats, so it never gets as hot and it never gives you steam. The round cage on the O series keeps every stone at the same distance from the firebox. You get 243 lb of it on the COZYO12 and 353 lb on the COZYO18, and all of it works.

Cozy Heat stoves are CE marked under the Construction Products Regulation 305/2011 EU, tested to EN 15821:2010 and BImSchV DIN EN 13240 level 2 by TUV SUD Industrie Service GmbH, notified body 0036, with a reaction to fire class of A1. That is European certification. They do not carry a UL, ETL or CSA listing. Many US and Canadian jurisdictions require a listed solid fuel appliance before an inspector will sign off, and some home insurers ask for the same. Check with your local building department and your insurer before you order. Lead time is 60 days from Estonia and these ship by LTL freight, so a permit problem found after delivery is an expensive one. If your inspector requires a listed stove, call us before you order and we will tell you which of the wood burning stoves we carry hold a listing for your area.

You can find a cheaper wood sauna stove. You cannot buy this one cheaper: Cozy Heat sets the price and every dealer holds it. What changes is what comes with the order.

The specs back that up. The COZYO18 runs at 81.3% overall efficiency with a flue gas temperature of 234 °C / 453 °F. The COZYO12 runs at 73.9%. Dust emission is 22 mg/m³ and 35 mg/m³. Both burn wood logs only, up to 30 cm / 11.8 in on both. Both are black steel with a 114 mm / 4.49 in flue that exits from the top.

The O is only marginally wider than the base Cozy Heat, at 17.7 in against 16.9 in on the 12 kW. Clearances are the same: 6.7 in to the sides on the COZYO12, 9.1 in on the COZYO18, 9.1 in behind and 19.7 in in front on both. Allow 44.5 in above the COZYO12 to the ceiling and 52.8 in above the COZYO18. The stove sits on a non-combustible base. Empty the ash box each session and restack the stones once per year.
